At the heart of the new concert program “Main Role” is music, which not only sounds in the movies and theatrical performances, but really plays the role of one of the main characters, without which it is impossible to imagine a movie or a play.
Proof of this is the music by Michael Nyman for J.Campion’s “The Piano” and P.Greenaway’s "The Cook, The Thief, His Wife & Her Lover” as well as the music by I.Schwartz with a surprisingly piercing national intonation for the movie “The Parrot Who Speaks Yiddish”. All these are serious compositions that are rightfully performed on the modern philharmonic stage.
The second part of the concert will feature film music by R.Pauls, M.Tariverdiev and A.Aigi, music by Belarusian composers V.Soltan, V.Kuryan and A.Litvinovsky for theatrical performances. For the first time in the “Musical Parlour” program will be “Dedication to Stefania Stanyuta” from the play “Harold and Maude”, written by V.Kurjan.
