National Academic Folk Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus named after I.Zhinovich
The concert of the National Academic Folk Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus named after I.Zhinovich, dedicated to the 115th anniversary of the People’s artist of the USSR, an outstanding musician, conductor, teacher, composer, founder of the orchestra Iosif Zhinovich (1907–1974), will take place on February 19 at the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society Hall.
Today, throughout Belarus, musical “grandchildren” and “great-grandchildren” of Iosif Zhinovich, students of his students, work as concert cymbalists and teachers in the cymbal class. They make up the elite of the modern belarusian school of performers on folk instruments. Many of them have worked for many years and now are working in the orchestra. The best concert cymbalists of Belarus will perform at the concert in honor of the anniversary of Iosif Zhinovich. These are the soloists of the orchestra – Honored artist of the Republic of Belarus Larisa Rydlevskaya, laureates of international competitions Yulia Vysotskaya, Elena Kostitsyna, Marta Golubko and Oksana Khokhol, as well as invited guests, laureates of international competitions Dmitry Kolotilo and Veronika Praded.
