The ensemble of soloists “Classic-Avat-garde” continues the concert cycle “From Origins to the Present,” in which it introduces listeners to Belarusian music of different eras. In the last concert season, artistic director Lyudmila Kalinovskaya and the ensemble’s artists presented portraits of two outstanding Belarusian composers – Dmitry Smolsky and Galina Gorelova. Collaboration with contemporary composers of our country has become one of the main traditions of the group.
The hero of the new program of the cycle will be our contemporary, Belarusian composer Vyacheslav Kuznetsov. Vyacheslav Kuznetsov is an Honored Art Worker of the Republic of Belarus, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus, holder of the Francysk Skoryna Medal, professor of the Belarusian State Academy of Music, member of the Belarusian Composers Union. In his work the author has talentedly combined the traditions of Belarusian musical culture of the past times with modern methods of writing. The composer refers to the national folklore, in his works he widely uses intonations and rhythms of Belarusian folk songs and dances. The program will feature both the composer’s well-known works and those specially written for the concert of the Classic-Avat-garde ensemble.
