Tatyana Kim is one of the prominent representatives of the Belarusian piano school, whose work combines performing mastery, scholarly research, and pedagogical devotion to the profession. Today she heads the Department of Concertmaster Mastery at the Belarusian State Academy of Music, but behind this title lies a lifelong path that began with her first lessons at a children’s music school.
Tatyana Kim is a laureate of international and national competitions, a scholarship holder of the Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus for the Support of Talented Youth, a Candidate of Art History, an Associate Professor, and the head of the Department of Concertmaster Mastery at the Belarusian State Academy of Music.
She received her musical education at the Borisov Children’s Music School (class of N.V.Mironova), the Republican Gymnasium-College at the Belarusian State Academy of Music (class of N.I.Tashchilina), and the Minsk State Musical College named after M.I.Glinka (class of Yu.A.Shirinova). She continued her studies at the Belarusian State Academy of Music in the class of People’s Artist of the Republic of Belarus, Professor of the Department of Special Piano I.V.Olovnikov, and then in master’s and postgraduate studies under I.Yu.Onoshko.
Tatyana Kim has a vivid performing style, in which technical freedom, subtle tonal nuance, and depth of interpretation are organically combined. Her solo programs cover a wide stylistic range – from Baroque music to works by contemporary Belarusian composers. The pianist pays special attention to the national piano school, consistently presenting its heritage on the concert stage.
In ensemble, she is distinguished by a rare sense of partnership, the ability to hear and engage in dialogue with the soloist, and to build the unified dramaturgy of a work. It is here that her natural musicality is most fully revealed – flexibility of phrasing, richness of timbral colors, and an impeccable sense of form.
Tatyana performs both in solo programs and in chamber ensembles with well-known vocal and instrumental soloists. As a pianist, she took part in concerts with People’s Artist of the Republic of Belarus I.Olovnikov; she collaborated with the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus, the Symphony Orchestra of the National State Television and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus, the National Academic Concert Orchestra of Belarus named after M.Ya.Finberg, and the State Institution “Gomel Symphony Orchestras” under the direction of conductors such as P.Globa, V.Prilepin, G.Mais, M.Assuil, Yu.Karavaev, A.Lapunov, P.Vandilovsky, A.Anisimov, and M.Rassokha.
She takes part in many festivals of early and contemporary music. She is a regular participant in the festivals “Belarusian Musical Autumn,” “Mandolinissimo,” and the projects “Folk Strings” and “Heritage.”
Tatyana Kim is a co-author of the “Heritage” project, aimed at popularizing Belarusian music and preserving traditions. She works closely with Belarusian composers (E.Atrashkevich, I.Komar, V.Korolchuk, V.Grushevsky, V.Karetnikov, I.Peganov, A.Bezenson, and others).
She conducts musical and educational work, giving lecture-concerts both within the system of professional development for specialists and at various music forums in many cities of Belarus.
Since 2016 she has been engaged in teaching. Since 2024 she has headed the Department of Concertmaster Mastery at the Belarusian State Academy of Music. In 2020 she was awarded the academic degree of Candidate of Art History, and in 2021 the academic title of Associate Professor in the specialty “Art History.”
She gives master classes for young pianists and accompanists in Belarus and abroad. She has repeatedly served as academic supervisor of master’s theses by students of the academy. She is a member of the jury of national and international competitions and festivals in Belarus and Russia.
She has received commendations and certificates from international competitions and festivals as a performer, teacher, and young researcher. She was awarded diplomas for best accompaniment at the International Competition of Young Performers named after E. Koka (Chisinau, Moldova, 2019), as well as certificates and commendations at national and international competitions in China (2025), Sochi (2021), St. Petersburg (2021, 2022, 2025), Moscow (2021), Mogilev (2021, 2024), Baranovichi (2023, 2026), and Minsk (2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024).
