XLIII International art festival “Belarusian musical autumn” invites connoisseurs of high art to concerts from 3 to 30 November 2017 in the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society. Traditionally, the festival has united the best of the world musical heritage, works and names which designed to open for a wide range of listeners the features of different genres and styles of modern Belarusian and foreign music.
The programme of the festival this season combines concerts of musicians from around the world. “Belarusian musical autumn” will begin with a concert of the Belarus-Russia Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Andrei Ivanov and Vyacheslav Valeev (03.11).
During the concert called "Saudade", which means "Nostalgia", the guitar duo Anabel Montesinos and Marco Tamayo will perform. Anabel was born in Spain, Marco was born in Cuba, and now musicians live in Austria. As a duet they made their debut in the 2003-2004 season and soon became laureates of the Guitar Duo Competition in Spain. “An outstanding duet, which you have necessarily to hear” (The Washington Post). Also in the concert takes part the Belarusian guitarist, laureate of international competitions Pavel Kukhta (04.11).
The State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus under the direction of People's Artist of Belarus Alexander Anissimov will present concert staging of the opera by G. Verdi “Otello”. Just as in other opera productions of the orchestra, starry cast of the soloists will come on the stage of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society in the opera “Otello”. The soloists will be from different countries: Piero Giuliacci – Othello (Italy), Irina Krikunova – Desdemona (Russia), Domenico Baltisani – Iago (Italy), Ivan Mikhailov – Cassio (Russia), Belarusian singers Dmitry Kapilov – Lodovico, Alexander Mikhnyuk – Rodrigo, Kriskentia Stasenko – Emilia (05.11). Italian director Carlo Antonio de Lucia worked out the scenic score.
The international project dedicated to the National Day of Romania will be held on November 21. Romanian musicians violinist Remus Azoitei and pianist Eduard Stan will perform.
Concert "Masters and virtuosos" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Independence of Poland. It will be held on November 16 in the Big Hall of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society. Music of Tansman, Moniuszko and Shostakovich will be performed by the State Academic Symphony Orchestra, conductor - Pavel Kotla (Poland, Great Britain).
On November 8 the concert “Tuba mirum” from the cycle dedicated to the to the 500th anniversary of the Belarusian Bible and book-printing and to the 500th anniversary of the European Reformation will be held in the Big Hall. The concert orchestra “Nemiga” and Minsk Trombone Quartet will perform.
On November 8 during the concert of “Tramontane”, which is successfully held for the third year, the music of contemporary Belarusian composers will sound. The evening with the composer Evgeny Poplavsky will be held on 18 November and the anniversary concert of the composer Sergey Beltyukov will be held on 23 November.
The National Academic Folk Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus named after I.Zhinovich under the direction of People’s Artist of the Republic of Belarus Mikhail Kozinets will bring together the best musicians – laureates of the international competitions – at a concert “Constellation of stars” (19.11).
The programme “Above the blue sky” the vocal ensemble “Camerata” and Ethno-trio “Troitsa” will present on 7 November.
The “Music parlour” continues the cycle of the Saturday literary and poetic concerts. The actor and director of the Belarusian Radio Oleg Vinyarsky will read works by V. Mayakovsky, B. Pasternak, D. Samoilov, E. Evtushenko, I. Brodsky (11.11). Artistic director of the “Music Parlour” Tatiana Starchenko together with the soloists of the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Belarus will perform works of the Georgy Sviridov on 18 November.
Nadine Koutcher is an outstanding Belarusian opera singer who became the winner of the prestigious vocal contest BBC Cardiff Singer of the World for the first time in the history of our country. On 15 November together with the Symphony Orchestra of the National Television and Radio Company of Belarus she will perform in the Big Hall of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society. Nadine Koutcher will present to the Minsk audience the programme "Salut a la France" which included well-known and favorite works of J. Bise, G. Charpentier, Ch.Gounod, L. Delibes, J. Massenet.
The first concert of the subscription “Three evenings with the Chamber Orchestra” of the State Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus under the direction of Yevgeny Bushkov will take place on 30 November. The 24 Caprices by Niccolo Paganini accompanied by Gintaras Kuprevicius will be performed.The soloist is an Honoured Artist of Russia the violinist Graf Murzha.
Twice Grammy winner and owner of forty platinum albums saxophonist, composer, arranger, soloist of many orchestras Mark Gross will perform in the Big Hall on November 17. He plays in a range from swing and bop to jazz rock and smooth jazz, sometimes turning into a field of rhythm and blues. Together with Mark Gross on the stage in the Big Hall of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society will perform bassist Ark Ovrutski, piano player Benito Gonzalez, drummer Alex Mashin.
Within a framework of the “Belarusian musical autumn” the performance of the famous pianist player from Germany Johannes Geffert became a good tradition. On the programme will be works of N. Bruhns, F. Liszt, J.S. Bach, E. Elgar (22.11).
Over the years International Festival of Arts “Belarusian musical autumn” assembles the best soloists. People's artist of Belarus Igor Olovnikov will perform works by Beethoven and Chopin in the Small Hall on 10 November. The soloist Alexey Yurinok (flute), Alexandra Zebrina (alto), Ekaterina Zhuravleva (harp) will perform the concert of the chamber music “Moonlight” on 14 November. The soloist of the Ensemble “Classic- Avantgarde” Svetlana Kudina in the programme “Piano solo” will perform works of the foreign and Russian composers. The Ensemble of the soloists under the direction of Igor Ivanov of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society will present the programme “Аutumn marathon”.
Not only music, but also dance art is represented in the palette of “Belarusian musical autumn”. The honoured collective State Dance Ensemble of the Republic of Belarus under the direction of Valentin Dudkevich with State Vocal Choreographic Ensemble «Rus» (Vladimir) is preparing a big bright concert “Round dance of friends” (14.11).
Art of declamation is present of the poetic solo performance “Life lines” in the performance of the Belarusian poetry theatre of one actor “Znich” (15.11). The statement is devoted to the 135th anniversary of the birth of Yakub Kolas.
XLIII International art festival “Belarusian musical autumn” has a rich style and genre palette. In the programme are instrumental chamber and symphonic music, folk, jazz, vocal, art of declamation and folk dances.
