A long-awaited musical event will take place on 2 November in the frames of the project “Choral Legends” – over 300 musicians will perform recognized masterpieces of national and world choral music on the Big Hall’s stage of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society.

The second concert of the cycle “Choral Legends” is presented by the names of four the most outstanding composers: A. Bogatyrev (Belarus), A.Borodin (Russia), B.Britten (England) and G.Verdi (Italy).

Belarusian Choral Directors Association gathers admirers of choral art at a grand musical evening, which will feature creative collaboration between young musicians of the Republic (students of Belarusian State Academy of Music, Belarusian National Technical University, Belarusian State University, Belarusian State Pedagogical University n.a. M.Tank, Minsk State Linguistic University; students of Gomel State College of Arts n.a. N.F.Sokolovsky, Minsk State Musical College n.a. M.Glinka; schoolers of the Children’s Music School of Arts №1 n.a. L.P.Alexandrovskaya, Children’s Music School of Arts №10 n.a. E.A.Glebov, Gymnasium-College of Arts n.a. I.O.Akhremchik) and professional Belarusian performers (State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus, State Academic Choir n.a. G.Shirma). Such soloists as Irina Krikunova, Konstantin Baturin, Igor Bondarevich, Olga Malinovskaya and Anastasia Khrapitskaya will take the part in the concert.

The concert programme presents various choral and vocal-instrumental genres. These are such well-liked choral miniatures as (A. Bogatyrev, A. Borodin); the festive suite “A Ceremony of Carols” B. Britten; the classic of Belarusian choral literature – poem “Tale of a Bear” by A. Bogatyrev; famous “Polovtsian Dance with Chorus” from the opera “Prince Igor” by A. Borodin and others.

The culmination of the musical evening will be the performance of “Libera me” from G.Verdi’s Requiem with the participation of the leading soloist of the Perm Tchaikovsky Opera and Ballet Theatre Irina Krikunova, State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus (artistic director and chief conductor – Alexander Anisimov), State Academic Choir of the Republic of Belarus n.a. G.Shirma (chief conductor – Olga Yanum), Student Choir of the Belarusian State Academy of Music (conductor – Inessa Bodyako) and others.
