One of the most prominent and in-demand European percussionists of his generation, known for a performance style that combines virtuosity, expressiveness, and deep musicality. He has performed with legendary artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Ennio Morricone, Chick Corea, Wynton Marsalis, Wayne Shorter, and Gérard Depardieu, collaborating with renowned conductors including Semjon Bychkov, Jiří Bělohlávek, Marcello Rota, and Manfred Honeck.
A winner of international competitions and auditions in Italy, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, China, Moldova, and Belarus, he has twice been awarded the Czech Music Fund Prize (2013, 2015) for his contribution to contemporary Czech music.
As a soloist, he has performed with various orchestras, including the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, the Prague Royal Philharmonic, the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava, the State Chamber Orchestra of Belarus, PKF – Prague Philharmonia, the Surgut Philharmonic Orchestra, the Impuls Orchestra (Saint Petersburg), and others. His concert appearances span Europe, the USA, and China, with performances at venues such as the Royal Albert Hall (London), Gasteig (Munich), the Elbphilharmonie (Hamburg), the Dvořák and Smetana Halls (Prague), and the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Beijing.
He received his higher musical education in the Czech Republic, earning both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, studying under Václav Mazáček and Daniel Mikolášek. Before moving abroad, he graduated from the Republican Music College of the Belarusian State Academy of Music under Professor Lyudmila Klindukhova. His percussion studies began at the Soligorsk Children’s Music School under his father, Vyacheslav Zhdanovich.
Anton honed his marimba skills under the world-renowned marimbist Ludwig Albert at LUCA School of Arts (Belgium) and completed a one-year residency at the Pergolesi Conservatory (Fermo, Italy) under leading percussion professor Antonio Santangelo. He studied timpani with principal timpanists Michael Koutný (Czech Philharmonic) and Marek Štefula (Gewandhaus Orchestra, Leipzig).
Since 2021, he has been working in China. He served as principal timpanist of the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra and, since 2022, has been the timpanist of the Sichuan Symphony Orchestra (Chengdu).
In 2018–2019, he was a teaching assistant at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp (Belgium) and, since 2018, has been a doctoral researcher at the University of Antwerp. He has given masterclasses in Europe, China, and Russia.
